The making of a prototype is very precise and detail oriented. Antima's prototyping department ensures a smooth transition between the designer, whose work it is to imagine the timepiece and the jeweller, who considers all of the technical parameters to make certain that the vision becomes reality.
The Swiss Prototyping team based in Biel-Bienne brings 2-dimensional drawings to life and transforms them into models that can actually be worn on the wrist, taking into consideration the actual size of the watch as well the designers chosen end materials. What's more, since the finished model eventually needs to be produced in series, a production process is organized which corresponds with the vision of the creators.
We work using 3D programs to manufacture by numerical control (NC) through computer assisted manufacturing (CAM) and produce prototypes from raw metal. In order to maintain discretion, no component is bought outside Antima except for, of course, the raw, unworked material.
The technology utilized helps us work efficiently and aids the product development and production process tremendously.
